SamiJenkis@gmail.com BioSami Jenkis was born of Sleep in 2004. Since his first exposure to spoken word in 2002, he has joined the poetry community throughout Florida and the United States. Sami Jenkis competed in the 2005 National Poetry Slam as a member of the Orlando slam team. He has also helped run the "exhale" open mic in Gainesville, Florida. Joining the Apartment Poets in the fall of 2005, he assisted in the coordination of the first Gainesville poetry slam, "Word of Mouth". Currently, he continues to try to open minds and dialogue through the medium of poetry.
